Interference effects in polarization-controlled Rayleigh scattering in twisted bilayer graphene

چکیده

We calculate the \tco{polarization}-controlled Rayleigh scattering response of twisted bilayer graphene (tBLG) based on continuum electronic band model developed by Bistritzer and MacDonald while considering its refinements which address effects structural corrugation, doping-dependent Hartree interactions particle-hole asymmetry. The dominant wave vectors for process emanate from various regions Moir\'e Brillouin zone (MBZ) in contrast to single-layer (SLG) AB-stacked (AB-BLG), where contributions always stem vicinity $\bm{K}$ point optical laser energies below. Compared SLG, integrated intensity is strongly enhanced small twist angles (\emph{e.g.}, at a angle $ \theta = 1.2^{\circ} $, energy E_l=2~\si{\electronvolt} enhances factor $\sim 100 case parallel \tco{polarization}). While cross-\tco{polarization}, it exhibits markedly complex \tco{behavior} suggestive strong interference mediated matrix elements. find that angles, \emph{e.g.}, 1.05^{\circ} corrugation ratio \bm{R}_A \frac{ \text{integrated \tco{polarization}}}{\text{integrated cross-\tco{polarization}}} \sim 1300 times \emph{viz viz} SLG or AB-BLG.

Quantum Hall effect in twisted bilayer graphene.

We address the quantum Hall behavior in twisted bilayer graphene transferred from the C face of SiC. The measured Hall conductivity exhibits the same plateau values as for a commensurate Bernal bilayer. This implies that the eightfold degeneracy of the zero energy mode is topologically protected despite rotational disorder as recently predicted. In addition, an anomaly appears. The densities at...

Superlensing with twisted bilayer graphene

The charge susceptibility of twisted bilayer graphene is investigated in the Dirac cone, respectively, randomphase approximation. For small enough twist angles θ ≲ 2° , we find genuine interband plasmons, i.e., collective excitonic modes that exist in the undoped material with an almost constant energy dispersion. In this regime, the loss function can be described as a Fano resonance, and we ar...

Quantum interference in bilayer graphene

We report the first experimental study of the quantum interference correction to the conductivity of bilayer graphene. Low-field, positive magnetoconductivity due to the weak localisation effect is investigated at different carrier densities, including those around the electroneutrality region. Unlike conventional 2D systems, weak localisation in bilayer graphene is affected by elastic scatteri...

Influence of Trigonal Warping on Interference Effects in Bilayer Graphene

Bilayer graphene (two coupled graphitic monolayers arranged according to Bernal stacking) is a twodimensional gapless semiconductor with a peculiar electronic spectrum different from the Dirac spectrum in the monolayer material. In particular, the electronic Fermi line in each of its valleys has a strong p ! p asymmetry due to trigonal warping, which suppresses the weak localization effect. We ...
